Udupi, Nov 24: Sri Pejawar Swamiji's blood donating team members staged a protest in front of Clock Tower here on November 24 demanding the arrest of Abdul Salam who made defamatory remarks against Pejawar Swamiji on Facebook.

Mohammed Arif, president of the team said, "Pejawar Swamiji is a kindhearted person who has a good opinion of minorities. He strongly condemns the remarks made by Abdul Salam and is in favour of his punishment wherever he may be. Pejawar helped the minority community during the Tsunami by providing the necessary facilities.

"These anti-social activists are trying to break the unity of society. We would not like to break the communal harmony of the society. This is just a symbolic protest," he said.

Nabeel, vice president, said that the defamatory remarks on social media have been made by one mischief maker. Pejawar has been very helpful to society without being discriminatory to any caste or religion. He urged that police should keep tracking those who circulate socially provocative messages via social media. Police should arrest them immediately and should severely punish them in order to maintain law and order otherwise they will have to go on a major protest.

Naushad, secretary, Nazeer and others were present at the protest.
