Bengaluru, Nov 25: Karnataka Upa Lokayukta, Subhash B Adi, about the removal of whom the Congress seems to be hell bent, noted that he was appointed to the post when BJP government was in office. Asking the Congress to openly express its intention not to continue him in office, he questioned the party's effort to remove him by levelling unfounded allegations.
He was reacting to the effort being made to unseat him, by collecting signatures of Congress legislators to remove him and serving a notice on the speaker about their intention.
"There is no substance in the allegations being made against me. I do not understand the basis on which signatures were collected against me. I am surprised at this move, as I have never behaved in a way that is against my conscience. I have already given clarification on every objection raised against me. I am unable to comprehend the conspiracy behind the move aimed at my ouster, and those who have collected signatures against me should say what is behind their minds," he said.
He said he has discharged his duties as Upa Lokayukta, duly maintaining the dignity and decorum of the post, adding that he would have resigned on his own if he had committed anything wrong. About the issue of charges against his son-in-law that was referred to Lokayukta, he said he took over charge only after he was absolved of all the charges.
