Bengaluru, Nov 29: Sections of JD(S) have taken umbrage at certain utterances of some party leaders including state president, H D Kumaraswamy. A few leaders have hit back at allowing internal differences to continue, and making public statements which they feel are tantamount to insulting them.
Since sometime, rumblings inside the JD(S) have repeatedly pointed to the failure of top leadership to address issues raised by aggrieved members of the party. Now, legislators, Cheluvarayaswamy and Zameer Ahmed Khan are irritated over the attitude of the father-children leadership of the party.
The fact that Cheluvanarayaswamy accompanied by his party leaders, Zameer Ahmed Khan and Akhanda Srinivasamurty, met chief minister, Siddaramaiah, on Saturday dropped enough hints about the differences within JD(S) leadership.
These legislators are angry at the use of the expression 'Congress agents' against them by Kumaraswamy. Cheluvarayaswamy said that it was wrong on the part of party leadership to brand them as Congress agents. He said it would have sufficed if Zameer Ahmed was called and told that alliance is not desirable. He said he is pained, as he too has good experience in politics, and he feels that Kumaraswamy had spoken about them in derogatory manner.
He said he had met the chief minister on personal basis, and not to discuss alliance. "Just because we praise someone from another party does not mean that we want to join them. It may be recalled that S M Krishna had praised Deve Gowda in the past. I do not know whether there are differences between the father-son duo of Deve Gowda and Kumaraswamy. But Kumaraswamy should have expressed his opinion about the alliance within the party circles without going public with it," he explained.
