Mangalore, Aug 18: A total of 4 persons were arrested by District Crime Investigation Bureau (DCIB) police in connection with duping the finance companies on Friday August 17.
The arrested persons have been identified as Hamza of Madavu, Puttur, Haneef of Partipady, Vittal, Abubakkar of Kodapadavu, Vittal and Abubakkar Siddik of Kodapadavu, Vittal.
These persons were cheating the financial institutions by not paying the loans. They were raising loans by mortgaging the records of vehicles. Later they used to sell these vehicles into scrap shops.
In the same way, they cheated a financial institute in Shanti Angadi in B C Road by raising the loan after mortgaging two vehicles. Later they sold the vehicles into scrap shop. On the other hand, they did not repay the loan.
The police have also seized spare parts of various vehicles sold to Abubakkar of B C Road, Ayub Khan of Lashkar Mohalla in Mysore. The amount of the spare parts has been estimated Rs 4 lac.
The arrested have been handed over to Bantwal rural police. DCIB inspector carried this operation with the direction of additional SP B S Lokeshkumar and SP Satheesh Kumar.
