Mumbai, Aug 20: City-based Christian activist organization, Catholic Secular Forum (CSF), have demanded an apology from Bollywood stars Salman Khan and Amrita Arora for hurting the sentiments of the Catholic community.

On Sunday August 19, a media report had claimed that Salman planned to gift a painting of the 'The Last Supper' to Amrita, where the former will paint the latter's family members instead of Christ and his Apostles.

The report also speculated on who will sit at the center of the table, in place of Christ and who will be at the side.

Joseph Dias, General Secretary of the forum, said ''The image of the ''The Last Supper' is revered by the Catholic community and this act is an insult to Christianity, hurting the sentiments of the community at large''.

The CSF has sent a letter of protest to the actor's residence and demanded an apology, failing which the forum will hold a demonstration outside the home of Amrita and would initiate legal action against Salman, he maintained.

Amrita is the younger sister of Salman's sister-in-law, Malaika Arora.

Salman Khan and Amrita Arora have hurt the feelings of more than 1.25 Billion catholics across the world. They have to apologise. Just because catholics are the most tolerant and peace-loving people, no one should be allowed to insult our RELIGION. This is a wake up call for all of us. There is a limit for our patience. Let us unite and stop some people making mockery of our sacred faith.

Is Salman Khan off his rocker? Does he not have any respect for religions? This is an insult to Christians and we should strongly criticise it and, if at all necessary, haul Salman Khan to the Court. Why do they like to portray Christians as drunkards, happy go lucky people, etc. when, in fact, Christians are, along with Parsis, the most peace loving and law abiding people in the country. Amongst Christian community, one can rarely come across a bad character, conman, sleazy politician, scamster,  etc.

Look at the Hindi Movies - the drunkards and bottleggers are all wearing crosses. Robbbers, thieves and rapists are portrayed as Catholics - vulgar scenes are being shot in our Catholic church - we the Catholic community do not protest strong enough as one entity. Christian Forum please do something on a very strong footing by involving all the bigwigs in our community

Such acts are best ignored. Demonstrations and subsequent reports in the media give the people involved the attention wanted which they  do not deserve.

This is of course an insult to our community by potraying last supper painting which is meant for Last supper of Christ with apostles. Nobody should compare with God and play havoc in his name. He should apologise and should respect the godliness.
