Mangalore, Aug 21: Our ancestors' effort to give a classical frame to music is really appreciable and the use of magnitude of musical instruments is a wonder. The concept of the union is welcoming and musicians are indeed magicians who can create melodies from the vacuum, Dr M Mohan Alva, chairman of Alva's Education Foundation said.
He was addressing the gathering during the inaugural ceremony of Karavali Sangeetha Kalavidara Okkoota (Association of Coastal Musicians) held at Town Hall, on Monday Augaust 20.
There are three kinds of audiences, one that has genuine aesthetic sense who really enjoy the essence of music, second the lay men who relish the music with their limited capacity while the third class seems to be dangerous to the existence of purity of art. Hence the responsibility lies on the musicians to convert the third into one who cherish music, he added.
