Udupi, Aug 22: All pre-university colleges which have good infrastructure facilities will be provided with satellite education facility informed the minister for higher education D H Shankarmurthy here on Tuesday August 21.

Addressing a press conference he expounding on the background of satellite-based education stated that such kind of education is being successful in engineering colleges on experimental basis and so this programme has been started in several colleges. An initiative will be taken to extend the same too many more institutions, he stated. He further stated that the said programme is implemented with the aim of providing quality education to students.

Shankaramurthy also said that a decision was taken to conduct the entrance examination for the admission of students to post graduation courses. But this was stopped due to position of those who were elected through teacher’s consultancy. But in future the same amendment will be carried out, by convincing those who opposed it, he added.

Bangalore and Mysore Universities have centres to support educational exchange programme with foreign universities. This is to see that the education sectors receive globalization.
