Mangaluru: Women artistes to present musical treat on Dec 12,13

Mangaluru, Dec 8: Sangeet Bharati Foundation will hold a-two-day music festival, ‘Karnataka Bank Sthree Swarangini’ featuring women artistes, on December 12 and 13 at Nalanda auditorium, V T Road Mangaluru.

Managing director of Karnataka Bank, P Jayaram Bhat will inaugurate the music festival on December 12 at 6.15 pm.

Anuradha Pal from Mumbai will present a tabla solo on the first day of music festival from 6.20 pm. Adhithi from Pune will accompany her on harmonium. At 7 in the evening, there is flute recital Jugalbandi by Sushmitha and Debopriya sisters from Mumbai. Anuradha Pal will accompany them on tabla.

Vibha Nayak of Mangaluru will present Hindustani classical vocal recital on December 13 at 5 pm. Adithi Garade from Pune on harmonium and Muktha Raste from Mumbai on tabla will accompany her. Classical santoor recital by Suma Hegde from Sirsi will be at 6 pm. Vijetha Hegde from Honnavar will accompany her on tabla.

Classical vocal music Jugalbandi by Pallavi Joshi and Apoorva Gokhale from Mumbai will be next at 7 pm. Adithi from Pune on harmonium and Muktha Raste from Mumbai, on tabla will accompany them.

Karnataka Bank, Expert Group of Educational Institutions, Corporation Bank and Ideal Ice-cream will sponsor the two day programme.

"Music lovers in the city are requested to make the best of this festival," said Ushaprabha N Nayak, treasurer of Sangeet Bharati.

Ustad Rafique Khan, the chairperson of Sangeet Bharati, Narendra L Nayak, the vice-president Perodi Radha Krishna Rao, secretary and the trustee Shobha Nayak were present in the press meet.
