Mangalore, Aug 22: A talk on Indo-Us relationship was held in the audio-visual room of St Aloysius College on Wednesday August 22.

The talk was given by Frederick J Kaplan, counselor for public affairs. The talk focused on a strategic relationship shared by India and the United Sates.

The intention of the talk was that although both the countries have divergent goals and interests, the renewed partnership, serves both the countries' interests. The talk was followed by an interactive session, where students raised questions related to various aspects of the ties.

Usha Davalur, colleague of Kaplan, was also present.

While ties with any country art in the best interest of people, ties with US and athe strategic interests of US would only for the better interersts of US. In recent years India has become the buzzword for capitalists such as US and any commerce from junk food to arm sales are not in the best interests of India.

Our young generation's apetite for US and US style lifestyle would greatly undermine our nation and our culture. I hope the students are not only intelligent but wise. US's deep penetration in India's household would only lead to great harm than good in the long term survival of our nation. From Coke to Junk food, do we need it?
