Bantwal, Dec 16: Union minister for road transport and highways, Nitin Gadkari, called upon every citizen of the country to take responsibility in ensuring that country marches ahead towards its goal of becoming a super power, duly striking perfect harmony between ITBT technology, our inspirational past history, and education that brings rich refinement.

He was speaking after dedicating the newly constructed building of Sri Rama degree college by Sri Rama Vidya Kendra at Kalladka on Tuesday December 15 evening, after watching the sports festival held under flood lights.

"Passing academic examinations alone can never be the final goal of education. Our educational system should be enriched with refinement, which enables people to blossom into good citizens and successfully face the challenges one faces in his or her life. Sri Rama Vidya Kendra has been imparting an education which shapes children into fine future citizens. This is an institution where rich values and refinement are being taught," he praised.

He felt that the parents as well as the teachers should give education to the children, backed by the zeal and conviction of a sculptor in breathing in life to his creation. "It is regretful that at some places, education has become a business proposition," he added.

Gadkari informed that the first ever electric bus will begin to move on New Delhi roads this month. He stressed that power-driven transport system has become a necessity to control pollution levels. He felt that the concepts of Make in India and Made in India should get accepted and expanded all through the country. He said that his department will be gifting the first ever electric bus to Lok Sabha.
