Udupi: District police conducts annual sports meet

Udupi, Dec 16: H S Ballal inaugurated the three days Udupi district police annual sports meet – 2015 held at Gandhi maidan, Ajjarkad here on Wednesday December 16.



The event was inaugurated by releasing a bunch of colourful balloons.

H S Ballal, vice chancellor, Manipal University in his inaugural address said that in order to work efficiently health is very important to an individual. Sports or exercises keep our minds fresh and active.

He also added that the police are unable to maintain good health due to their busy schedule and various other reasons. He urged them to have regular health check-ups.

The march past was performed by five teams from Udupi, Kundapur, Karkala and arms team. Umesh PR, PI DAR led the march past.

Police officials participated with enthusiasm and the day's activities refreshed and relieved their minds.

Nagesh Gowda, CPC, town police carried the sports lamp.

Dr Sumana ASP, Karkala was present as chief guest.

Superintendent of police Annamalai welcomed the gathering. Santhosh Kumar, additional commissioner delivered the vote of thanks.

B Manmohan Rao, PSI compered the programme.
