Assisi press opens branch in Udupi

Udupi, Dec 17: Assisi Press, Udupi, a unit of Capuchin Publication Trust, was inaugurated by Jerry Vincent Dais, President, Builders Association, Udupi District on Monday December 14 at Vidya Jyothi Complex.


























Dr Dolphy Joseph Pais, OFM CAP, Provincial Minister, Holy Trinity Province, Bengaluru blessed the new office and led through the prayer session.The formal stage programme was inaugurated by Dr Dolphy Joseph Pais by lighting lamp.

Speaking to the gathered he said, “Assisi Press was one of the dreams of the great visionary Fr Vincent Lobo. A small press with two small machineries was established in the year 1970 with the motto, 'Printing with Care'. Today it has become popular in Mangaluru. On the verge of 45th year, the sister branch of Assisi Press has got inaugurated. Let it continue with the same great spirit and grow to heights in Udupi district.”

Continuing he said, “Printing plays an important role in one’s life. Printing has a positive aspect as well as negative aspect. Negative aspect can lead to destruction of the society whereas positive aspects may fill life in the lifeless. Let this press take care all the aspects, let it grow and spread roots deep down in the minds and hearts of the people of Udupi. ”

Fr Peter Cyprian D’souza, Superior, St Ann’s Friary, Mangaluru, Fr Fredrick Mascheranus, Vicar-var, Udupi Deanery, Jerry Dais, Fr Royson Fernandes, Assistant Parish Priest, Mother of Sorrows Church, Udupi, Fr Alwyn D’silva, Manager, Assisi Press, Udupi were other dignitaries present on the dais.

The event was compeered by Fr Vijesh Menezes, Capuchin, Perampally, Fr Peter D’souza welcomed the dignitaries and the gathered while Fr Alwyn D’silva proposed the vote of thanks.

At present the team at Udupi comprises Fr Alwyn D’Silva as the manager, two designers and a staff representative.
