Udupi, Dec 22: In an accident which occurred at Manipal on Monday December 21 evening, a youth from Santhekatte lost his life. The deceased was Rahil (25) from Santhekatte in the taluk.
Rahil was working for Bombay Bazaar firm at Manipal. He had left the shop to have tea near the office of the district deputy commissioner during the tea break. He was returning to his shop thereafter, when a tipper hit his scooter from behind.
Rahil, who was knocked down to the ground. suffered serious injuries. He was immediately admitted into Manipal Hospital, where he breathed his last sometime later. Rahil's family, which used to live at Hoode here, had shifted base to Santhekatte sometime back, it is learnt.
Manipal police have registered a case and investigation has begun.
