Udupi: Parkala Arjun Yuvaka Mandala celebrates golden jubilee

Udupi, Dec 22: Parkala Arjun Yuvaka Mandala celebrated its golden jubilee in association with regional general manager office, Syndicate Bank at Manipal, Syndicate Bank Golden jubilee auditorium on Sunday December 20.









A free health check-up campaign on eye testing, distribution of spectacles, programme on handing over of house keys was inaugurated by H S Ballal, vice chancellor, Manipal University.

In his inaugural address he said, "A person does not bring anything at birth and likewise will not take anything with him at death. In the phase between birth and death, people should contribute something to the poor people in society and the memory of this act remains forever. We should keep part of our money for social work, so that life is worth remembering."

General manager, Syndicate Bank V Ganeshan handed over the house key for a house costing Rs 3 lac to Sarasu, Ishwarnagar.

Dileepraj, president, yuvaka mandala presided over the programme.

Former MLA Raghupati Bhat, Dr M Dayanand, medical superintendent, Kasturba Hospital, Dinkar Shetty Herga, president, Rotary, CMC members Umitra Nayak, Sukesh Kundar, Jai Vittal, director, Asare, Narayan, secretary, Prasanna, joint secretary, Bhaskar Acharya, president, building committee, Deepak Hegde, secretary and others were present.

National award winner in swimming, Archana was felicitated by the mandala.

A yakshagana was also performed by the artistes.

Mahesh Takoor welcomed the gathering and treasurer Prakash Shenoy proposed the vote of thanks.

Prakashchandra Shetty compered the program.
