It is very exciting to see that our great city Mamgalore will become greater City soon. In fact we have people irrespective of their caste, creed, religion love our Mangalore and are very eager to see Mangalore becoming the fastest growing city in this part of the world.

Our people deserved all this a few years earlier. But it is not too late and with our Brand known as 'Mangalorean' we can create miracles.

Now coming to the question of job opportunuties the new establishments through their HR identify the area where our youth can be trained to suit a particular job or should be trained to upgrade their proficiency to be employed with them.

The locals would get benefited only if the companies concerned prepare the locals for their requirements and train them much in advance. A debate on this subject can be organised by Daijiworld and people from the New and yet to be established companies by involving locals populace along with our popular MLA Mr. Yogish Bhat..

Local jobs for local people. And that is the way it should be ideally. If we apply the same analogy everywhere perhaps many Mangaloreans would have to leave their current jobs other than in Mangalore. And, that would have a toll on these families who depend on those jobs. Imagine what would happen to Gulf employees if localisation, for example, Qatarisation or Omanisation takes place there? Are we prepared to accept that? Just a food for thought.

Why is this sudden demand for jobs to locals? When locals are busy protesting every damn project how are companies supposed to hire them? MRPL, BASF - same story everywhere. Locals protested just because some foreign cash rich NGOs sponsored their protest - as a result locals have been permanently blacklisted from jobs in these companies.

Same with Nagarjuna - locals protest without any reason fuelled by foreign NGO money and when project comes to fruitition they demand jobs! Sounds like hypocrisy to me! Why blame politicians when we have become a "protest every project" people!

Thanx Mr Desouza, for reminding Kannadigas to unite and fight at least for the sake of jobs in Petro-chemical Projects under united kannadiga banner. Otherwise fight under banner of Konkani, Tulu, Beary OR even divided Kannadiga wont fetch a job. 'United we stand divided we fall'. Hey am I sounding Chauvinistic ?

I think this is only a way found by the local MLA to fool the people arround Mangalore. Elections are due next year, atleast he has to start right now to fool the people, and atleast get some %ge share in the form of votes as well as some wealth.

As the anouncement spreads people may start approaching him for bookings. Why these kind of cheaters still existing..?

I have read all the comments, but are these feelings conveyed by anyway to the concerned..? we keep on commenting.. and politicians keep on cheating us and take bribes and recruit people from other states even though Mangaloreans gets qualified.

We all need to see some way to ensure that all promises made like this are fulfilled and ensure that DK District people get jobs in Mangalore. Otherwise think what happened in Mumbai...? all gone to bihari/UP bhayyas..Mangaluru will soon become metro like mumbai and we need to change the name again to ..Mangagala ooru... Those days are not far if it continues like this.!!!

If you provide job opportunities to Mangalorean or D.K. district people, I welcome this development. otherwise, I consider that you want to increase the garbage and polution on Mangalore soil and destroy the existing culture and beauty. It must be beneficial to D.K. district people first. remaining to other kannadigas. Otherwise leave it.let other state take chance to develop. But don't destroy our beautiful city. Its just a False Promise by the Chairman.  Jobs will availaible for the  neighbouring state people. If the  Person who is Taking Interviews is a  Non Kannadiga which means he doesn't belong to Karnataka State. Panamboor is an example., Now next Nagarjuna/Suzlan at Nandikoor.  All these Projects have vested interests of our corrupted Politicians.  To counter this All Kannadigas must unite.

I absolutely support the comments made by Mr. Pereira-M'lre/Sharjah and Ajit Dubai who have rightly mentioned that all these so called 10 lakh jobs which will be created, will there be ample recruitment from Mangalore for the people of Mangalorean origin?!

It doesn't mean that some people from other states who reside and settle in Mangalore means, they are Mangaloreans. Because, wherever we see in Mangalore, there are people of other states employed and Mangaloreans have not been given the opportunity to avail these jobs.

Thus several Mangaloreans are struggling to find jobs, but without success. Therefore preference must be given to local people from Mangalore who are interested to get employed in these posts. Will 'THE DISTRICT IN-CHARGE MINISTER - MR NAGARAJ SHETTY' memorise this in mind and issue necessary instructions to the concerned officials to offer jobs to the right candidates of Mangalore origin!!!

Steps are to be taken that the job benefits are to be made available to the local people and from Karnataka. Local institutions should try to train the local people/students by anticipating future job requirments in Petro Chemical based industries, Power based industries etc. Otherwise local people will loose the golden opportunities which may please be noted by the concerned local leaders.

The important point is for whom will the jobs be created, for the locals or for people from outside Mangalore (Other States like Tamil Nadu for example). If it is the latter, then it is back to square one for the local people.

I am happy that 10 lac jobs are available, but please ask them, who will fit in there ? because MRPL, konkan railway and other big co's have not provided enough jobs for Mangaloreans or the people of Karnataka which is well known to everyone..

So, kindly take care of this and see that the benefit will be given to the locals first and also the expats who live in other countries should get a chance to relocate.
