Mangaluru: Golden jubilee of Carmel school celebrated

Mangaluru, Dec 23: The golden jubilee celebration of Carmel school was held on December 21 in the grounds of Carmel school. The honorable guests were warmly welcomed with the school band followed by opening song and welcome dance by the students.

The president of the celebration was Sr M Linette A C, the provincial superior, the Apostolic Carmel. The chief guests on the dais were J R Lobo MLA, Mayor Jacintha Vijaya Alfred, Dr Sr M Lydia A C from General Council for Education, the Apostolic Carmel Congregation.


























J R Lobo in his message called the parents and the educational institutions to work hand in hand towards the betterment of the present generations.

The Guests of honour were Fr J B Crasta the parish priest of Rosario Cathedral, Sr Edna Furtado A C the secretary of the A C Educational Society, Karnataka and Abdul Latheef the corporator of port ward.

The Stage programme commenced with the welcome speech by Sr Sarika. The prizes were distributed to the students who brought laurels to the school in sports, academics and various competitions.

The retired teachers were felicitated and retired principals were honoured.The souvenir of the school was released by Jacintha Vijaya Alfred.

The words of gratitude were expressed by Sonia Rodrigues and Sr Marina A C.The voice message of Sr Susheela the superior general of Apostolic Carmel was played. The jubilee song was sung by students and cultural programme followed with theme light. Dance drama on life of Mother Veronica, who was the foundress of Apostolic Carmel was enacted by the students.

The parents and well wishers of the school were gathered in large number and made the celebration a grand success. Raymond Patrao the vice president of golden jubilee committee, Dr Sr M Shalini A C the joint secretary, Sr Maria Sarika A C the principal of Carmel School were also present.
