Udupi, Dec 23: District working journalists association organized a fun filled annual sports meet day at Ajjarkad Gandhi maidan, here, on Tuesday December 22.





















District commissioner R Vishal inaugurated the event with a clap to set off the running race. Addressing the gathering he said that journalists must take care of their health and hygiene at the right age, otherwise they will be suffer in some way or other.

"If a person had a breath walking exercise every morning for 30 minutes, he will always maintain good health," he advised.

He urged journalists to maintain a life insurance scheme. If a person deposits Rs 1,000 at State Bank of India every year, he will get Rs 20 lac insurance amount. He stressed on an active healthy lifestyle and to make use of other government insurance schemes.

There were lots of fun games organized such as tug of war, volleyball, basketball, race, musical chairs and so on.

Rohini, information department officer, Dr Roshan Kumar, assistant director, sports department, Ganesh Pandelu, secretary, Rajesh Shetty, treasurer, Nazeer Polya, sports secretary and others were present.

Jayakar Suvarna, president, UDWJA welcomed the gathering. Harsharaj extended the vote of thanks.
