Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (DV)

Mangaluru, Dec 24: Mangalore City Block Congress staged a protest in front of Mangaluru City Corporation on Wednesday December 23 against NDA led BJP government for pursuing political vendetta on Congress president Sonia Gandhi and vice-president Rahul Gandhi in connection with the National Herald case.

Addressing the protest, deputy mayor Purshotham Chitrapur said, “In democracy, it is the duty of the opposition to show the failure of the ruling party. But BJP has involved in hate politics and filing the false cases against the Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and others and trying to curb democratic practices.”

“Condemning this, Congress party activists are protesting across the nation. As there is no strong reason, BJP has used its agent Subramanian Swamy to file the case against Congress leaders.”

Speaking on the occasion, corporator Shashidar Hegde said, “Before elections, BJP gave many promises to people but it has failed to fulfil the promises. Instead, BJP has involved in filing false case against the Congress leaders.”

He also termed Subramanian Swamy as a CIA agent trying to mislead Indian politics to facilitate the enemy nation.

District Congress interim president Ibrahim Kodijal also slammed the NDA led BJP government for pursuing political vendetta on Congress president Sonia Gandhi and vice-president Rahul Gandhi in connection with the National Herald case.

PV Mohan, Ashok DK, TK Sudhir and others were present.
