Puttur, Dec 25: "Congress is mired in confusions as far as council election from Dakshina Kannada - Udupi constituency is concerned. Now it has been blaming the BJP. For registering victory in the election, Congress leaders are entering into tacit understanding with their own rebel candidates. As a cover up, they are unnecessarily placing blame on BJP," said Dakshina Kannada MP, Nalin Kumar Kateel.

Addressing a press conrerence at the BJP office here on Thursday December 24, Kateel said that the party candidate will register victory with a thumping margin as the party has fielded only one candidate. He said that the party has requested voters to cast only one first preference vote. While asserting that BJP has no confusion on the issue, he said Congressmen are trying to defeat their own candidate through conspiracies.

About the seven municipal councillors who have been asked to stay away from casting their votes for the election through an interim order of the high court, Kateel said the party had not been counting on their votes for a victory, and that these people would have voted for Congress if allowed to participate in the polling. He said his party does not aspire to win on the basis of support from other parties.

Kateel felt that the Congress leaders should educate Sonia Gandhi about the law of the land. He accused Sonia of blocking the GST bill because of personal reasons.

BJP district general secretary, Sanjeev Matandoor, party leaders, Boodiyar Radhakrishna Rai, Shylaja Bhat, Saja Radhakrishna Alva, and others were present.
