Mangaluru: CCB police arrest man hatching robbery plan

Mangaluru, Dec 25: City crime branch (CCB) police arrested a person from near Kulur junction in the city on Wednesday December 23. The policemen said that the man, along with his other associates, had been waiting to execute a robbery plan when he was arrested.

CCB police inspector, Valentine D'Souza, based on reliable information he had gathered, rushed to Kulur junction and tried to arrest two persons seated in a motor bike opposite Durga Motors there and three more standing near another bike. The men, seeing D'Souza and his men, tried to flee and four of them succeeded in escaping. One of them, Ajai Kumar, resident of Mullakadu Akash Bhavan fourth cross, was arrested.

During the questioning, Kumar confessed that he and four others had planned to rob rich persons, and had come together at Kulur to draw out a plan for the purpose. A cellphone, a sword, and a Yamaha motor bike were seized from the possession of the arrested accused. He was handed over to Kavoor station for filing of case and conducting further investigation.

    Hats off to CCB Inspector Valentine D'Souza and his team for their quick action/wonderful achievement. The other 4 escaped criminals will certainly be caught and jailed within no time.

    Hope the arrested criminal/s will not be given any leniency or opportunity (bail) to commit further crimes.
