Mangaluru: Kadri Stars emerge conquerors of KPL trophy

Mangaluru, Dec 29: Kudla Premier League underarm flood light tournament was organised from December 24 to 27 by Friends Urwa, here. It was a floodlight tournament, with a total of 8 participating teams and 7 league matches played by each team.









Kadri Stars emerged as winners and team Elegant, owned by Elegant Views Dubai and team Elegant Sports Club emerged as runners up of the tournament. The winners took home a cash prize of Rs 2,22,222 and the KPL trophy while the runners up received a cash prize of Rs 1,11,111 and KPL trophy. The Man of the Match award went to Rajesh and Man of the Series award went to Ashwin Raj.

The semi finals and finals were telecast live on Namma kudla and V4 channels. MLA J R Lobo and health minister U T Khader, former minister Nagaraj shetty were also present during the grand finale, which took place on Sunday night.

Kadri Stars and team Elegant battled hard for the KPL title, but finally Kadri Stars managed to emerge victorious. KPL was like the World Cup of underarm cricket and it was also a cricket festival which took place in the footsteps of Tilak and Friends Urwa.
