Mangalore, Aug 31: Naukarara Hitarakshana Vedike (Forum for Welfare of Employees) has warned Mangalore City Corporation to stop appointing workers on Contract Basis for the execution of water supply service.

This was announced by forum president T S Chandru at a press conference held here in the city on Friday August 31 morning.

It was also informed by the president that the corporation continues to appoint workers on contract basis despite the order by the government to stop appointing contract workers for the above said work from November 10, 2006 onwards in the limits of six corporations; Gulbarga, Belagam, Hubballi, Dharwad, Mysore and Mangalore but the continuation of appointing is the clear violation of the order of the government, he opined.

The forum has also demanded to regularize the service of the workers. If the MCC fails in this the forum would launch agitationn, the president added.

    So I was off work and surfing and found this place and thought I would join up. I don't have much more to say right now except I need to start reading some of the older posts to get up to speed before I can start posting.
