Mangaluru, Jan 10: Actor-director Huccha Venkat, who was recently in the news for being evicted from Bigg Boss Season 3 after he beat up a fellow inmate and then getting arrested for his controversial comments on Dr B R Ambedkar, was in the city on Sunday January 10 for the screening of re-released movie 'Swatantra Palya' at Suchitra theatre here.
During an interaction with media persons, he said that he has a special bond with Mangaluru, and revealed that his first love was a Konkani-speaking girl from the city. "I like Mangaluru a lot, especially the beaches. I was in Mangaluru during my younger days and I had an affair with a Konkani-speaking girl who was studying in Gokarnatheshwara College. She was my first love. We had been to Kateel Temple together. But it ended in a breakup and I was the reason for it."
He expressed displeasure over lack of supporters and audience for his movie in Mangaluru. "I am unhappy about the sparse crowd in the theater. This was despite informing the public about my arrival in Mangaluru on Facebook and Twitter. This has hurt me," he said.
"People should come to theatres and support the movie. The film producer is also from Mangaluru. The film was released in 2009, and despite piracy and TV screenings, the re-release of the movie has got good support. People should watch this movie. People had supported my film 'Huccha Venkat' and I expect the same for this movie and all my upcoming movies," he added.
He also said that he would be acting in a film directed by S Narayan and produced by Vijaya Kumar, and that he has three films at hand.
"Will launch political party, become CM or PM some day"
Huccha Venkat also said that he would be floating his own 'Huccha Venkat' political party in the next three or fourth months. "Our party will contest the next Assembly polls and I am sure we will win at least one seat. I will not stand for elections now. I will be active in politics only after I am 60. I am 200 percent sure I will become the CM or PM some day," he said.
