Mangaluru: Drunk cop misbehaves with girls, thrashed by public

Mangaluru, Jan 14: A policeman was caught and assaulted by the public at a mall in the city on Thursday January 14 for allegedly misbehaving with girls.

Sadashiva, a constable attached to the Urwa police station, allegedly abused five girls at Forum Fiza Mall at Pandeshwar. He was also allegedly drunk, and one of the girls was a minor. Sadashiva was not in uniform at the time of the incident.

The people who were around grew angry at the way he behaved with the girls, and caught and thrashed him. They then handed him over to the Pandeshwar police.

Police sources said that Sadashiva had been stalking a minor girl, who was among the group he allegedly misbehaved with. The girl later filed a complaint in Pandeshwar police station.

Sources said that Sadashiva has three wives and faces charges in several cases. It is said that he was previously with Kadri traffic police and was transferred to Urwa station after complaints of corruption were levelled against him. Sources also said that his wives had often complained to the police commissioner about him.

He was later taken to Wenlock hospital for medical examination.

Based on the girl's complaint, Pandeshwar police have registered a case under IPC Section 354, 509 and under POCSO Act.

    POLICE MUST HAVE A DIFFERENT LAW OF HAVING ANY NUMBER OF WIVES, KEEP AND SO ON. OTHERWISE BY NOW HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN JAIL BUT HE IS POLICE CONSTABLE. IT IS PROVED BEYOND DOUBT THAT CRIMINALS ARE IN POLICE DEPT.

    At the time of incident he was in uniform as in Report.Alcohol makes all the Problems.Three wives is his private Problem and women marry without looking past and thinking.Many dont tell about it.Thats the big Problem when not registered is.But I ask why Police dept.didnt react when complains came.They know to thrash other People and let their own cofellow to misbehave and drunk on duty and randalize.why Action was taken and put out or send him for therapy?Now high time he should be either send to therapy or tell him he will be thrown out of Police.No go is to misbehave with women ,let alone small Girls.A big mistake.How can one believe them in real problematic time?

    Great civil servant with outstanding qualifications of 3 wives, harassment of little girls, corruption and still working as a policemen. He deserve to be commissioner of police or a minister. I feel ashamed of govt of karnataka of keeping such rowdies in police force.

    The public has done the same thing as the Bajrang Dal / Rama Sena etc have done earlier in Mangalore. What is the difference between both incidents ? In this case the public have behaved like goons. They should have caught the drunken cop and handed him over to the Pandeshwar Police.
