Kundapur: Police arrest gang of four young bike thieves

Kundapur, Jan 17: DCIB and Kota police have arrested four persons relating the theft of bikes in various places of the district.

Sujana (19) from Kundapur, Ravindra Kumar (19) from Neralakatte, Vishnu Mestha (20) and Jayaraj R Mestha (24) from Shiroor are the persons arrested.


A Yamaha bike from Balaipade in Udupi, a Hero Honda Splendour bike from Basrur and a Yamaha bike from Koteshwar were stolen by the gang. They also used a Bajaj Pulsar bike to go and steal the bikes. All these four bikes have been confiscated by the police. The group have admitted that they stole the bikes for thrill.

The biggest thrill came to them when a bike rider stopped his Yamaha bike as there was no petrol. Then he went to bring petrol by walking. The group which saw this put petrol in the bike and stole it to the embarrassment of the rider who came later with petrol.

DCBI T R Jaishankar from DCBI, Kota police sub inspector Kabbal Raj, PSI Rosario D’Souza, Ravichandra, Chandra Shetty, Ramu Hegde, Santosh Kunder, Suresh K, Raghavendra Uppunda, Praveen, Shivananda Poojary, Dayananda Prabhu and Navin Chandra (all from DCIB) and Gopala, Suresh, Sandeep and Raghavendra (all from Kota police station) participated in the operation.

    Dear parents not big thing to give birth to a baby.give education . Good character and manner. so many uneducated and poor people doing hard work and living happily.but some people from poor not going for school and they are not going for job .they are living by looting.snatching women's chains bag etc and robbery like this.i don't no why they live?? They can jump to sea instead of this. They have no right to live.help others.if you cannot help please dont give trouble T&C
