‘High Command’ Deve Gowda Asks Party to Prepare For Polls
Times of India

Bangalore, Sep 9: Chaos prevailed in Karnataka’s political circles on Saturday with the JD(S) firing two missiles at the BJP, its coalition partner. While state JD(S) president Merajuddin Patel thundered that the power-sharing agreement finalised 19 months ago is not valid anymore, party supremo HD Deve Gowda exhorted his legislators to get ready for assembly elections.

These utterances have jolted the BJP, which has been riding high on chief minister H D Kumaraswamy’s promise to transfer power on Oct 3.

Patel told reporters the agreement between Kumaraswamy and deputy CM B S Yediyurappa does not hold good in the current political situation. “Any final decision on power transfer has to be taken by our high command (Deve Gowda). Kumaraswamy has to consult the party on such issues; he cannot be making statements on his own or taking decisions,’’ he said.

At the same time, Patel tried to dangle a carrot before the BJP to ensure continuance of the government without power transfer. “JD(S) workers and a majority of the people want the present leadership structure — Kumaraswamy as CM and Yediyurappa as deputy CM — to continue. Things have to happen as the majority wants them to. Even some BJP ministers are in favour of Kumaraswamy as CM.’’

The BJP chose not to react strongly. While Yediyurappa said he would not speak on the issue till October 3, his fellow party minister K S Eshwarappa hoped Kumaraswamy would keep his word. Gowda, on his part, said the transfer of power will take place only after holding talks with BJP leaders A B Vajpayee and Rajnath Singh. Maintaining that the JD(S) workers had suffered a lot at the hands of BJP leaders in the state, Gowda asked: “How can power transfer happen in such a situation?’’ Turning to his MLAs, he said: “If the discussions with BJP national leaders are not fruitful, get ready for elections.’’

If this was not enough, Congress tried to fish in the troubled waters with former CM N Dharam Singh calling on governor Rameshwar Thakur on Saturday. Though described as a courtesy call, the visit assumes significance as it comes in the backdrop of Kumaraswamy’s meeting with the governor on Friday.

Whatever agreement made basically unholy and mockery of peoples right to vote, as both parties got big junk of votes for the principles of respective parties and its communal views. Instead of patch of government, better to go fresh polls.

The transfer of power as promised by HD Kumarswamy to the BJP was well known by political followers, as like father, like son, power hungry, grabbing wealth, this are the only reasons to stick to power, great make good politcians for themselves, i.e getting richer day by day, hook or crook, stick to power and this is not only their philosophy but the third world country politicians, India is no exception to this rule, we call ourselves forwards but need to go miles to civilize and culture our thinking and behaviour.

Yudiyurappa is also not so prominent for the recognised post , who can do anything to get power and become C.M.. Once he was dead against to JDS But Kumaraswamy `s offer after 18 months C.M. chair made him mad and he agreed to sit wherever possible.

In my opinion that BJP should head the state as this was a deal between BJP and JD. I expect BJP to be more gentler, helpful to minorities and develop the Karnataka state as western nations as lot of BJP leadership resides in Western Countries. Term Limits (maximum two or three terms to an office) were adapted by the voters, in many democracies to stream line the acts of the elected represntatives - politicians.

These term limits seems to be a must to India, so that the elected reprentatives can dedicate their time and efforts to build a strong developed nation, state instead of concentrating in developing their children and grand childrens political career.

Great, well-done Devegowda, I really appreciate JDS leaders, even they made this decision only because of power greediness, but let’s not give power to communalists. At present situation, handing over the power to BJP is quite worst than cheating a person or a party. Although, BJP leaders are not come from "SATYA HARISCHADRA" family.

Well, nothing surprising here. DeveGowda is showing his true colors like past. The list of his ditching and backstabbing includes - Mr. Ramakrishna Hegde (who nurtured him like his own son), Mr. S.R Bommai and recently Mr.Dharam Singh of Congress. They say the people practicing the worlds "OLDEST PROFESSION" do not have any shame and some of our political party leaders are worse than that.

I am not quite surprised to see the situation of today that Janata Dal has created for BJP. I had expected that Mr. Kumaraswami would be backing off from the power transfer to BJP. As expected, Mr. DeveGowda, played his cards at the right time after enjoying the power for almost 19 months. He should have gracefully handed over the power to BJP as per their agreement, instead of backing off.

This is mere cheating.. What a disgrace, to hear about a thought from the Dal Leaders that they are prepared to continue, if the CM position is retained by Mr. Kumaraswamy!!! This is nothing but a Greedy Power Hungry cheap politician with no self esteem at all.

One would really be disgusted to hear about these developments in Karnataka. It looks like the Congress is going to benefit immensely from this if the elections are held in the state and they must be busy watching the developments carefully to try and get maximum benefits from this.

The polls are the best. At least we will have a Chief Minister as per the voters mandate, be him Congress, BJP or JD(S) party. However, the voters should be careful that they should not vote those who try to divide the country on the basis of religion. However, all voters should consider that we are Indians first and the religion is a private affair of all different faiths.

Promises are to be made and but not to be fulfilled. This has been the policy of the Polictians of our Great Mahatma Gandhi's India. It is during the Elections or between Political parties relationship, these Politicians make promises for Political Gains or to amass Wealth. The Politicians are like Bumble Bees or Parasites.

It is time that we Indians who think of better development wake up and start cleaning the system and wipe out these parasites. When HDK became CM, Deve Gowda said I am not involved for breaking away from Congress and joining BJP but now HDK says that I have to seek High Command Permission. I think it is becoming like the British Idea of Divide and Rule Policy.
