PM Modi's cash in hand only Rs 4,700, total assets Rs 1.41 crore

New Delhi, Feb 1 (PTI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi does not seem to keep much cash in hand even as his total assets have gone up to Rs 1.41 crore -- largely due to a residential property that has appreciated by more than 25 times since purchase over 13 years ago.

According to the latest details of his assets disclosed by the Prime Minister's Office, Modi had total 'cash in hand' of just Rs 4,700 at the end of the last fiscal, down from Rs 38,700 disclosed mid-fiscal as on August 18, 2014.

However, the total value of Modi's movable and immovable assets during this period has grown from Rs 1,26,12,288 crore to Rs 1,41,14,893 crore as on March 31, 2015.
Modi assumed office as Prime Minister on May 26, 2014.

As per the disclosure, Modi does not own any 'motor vehicles/aircraft/yachts/ships', while he still retains his bank accounts in Gujarat. He has no bank account in Delhi.

While he has no loans, his jewellery holdings include "four pieces of gold rings" weighing approximately 45 grams with a value of about Rs 1.19 lakh as on March 31, 2015. The value of these rings has come down slightly from Rs 1.21 lakh since last disclosure as on August 18, 2014.

The latest disclosures are updated till January 30, 2016, as per the PMO website.
Modi's investments include L&T Infra Bonds (Tax Saving) worth Rs 20,000, as also National Savings Certificates worth about Rs 5.45 lakh and life insurance policies worth Rs 1.99 lakh, taking the total value of his movable assets to Rs 41.15 lakh.

The immovable assets include one-fourth part in a residential property in Gandhinagar and his share is 3,531.45 square feet with a built-up area of 169.81 square feet.

Stating that this was not an "inherited property", the disclosure mentions the date of purchase as October 25, 2002.

The cost of purchase has been disclosed as Rs 1,30,488 while the "investment on the land by way of development construction, etc" has been shown as Rs 2,47,208.

The "approximate current market value" of the property has been disclosed as Rs 1 crore. This puts the total appreciation at over 25-times over the cost of the property and the investment made thereon in over 13 years since the purchase.

Sachidanand, first of all you dont know how much is 186 lakhs crores!. That translates to 150% GDP of Indian economy or nearly 4 years of US annual defense budget!. Now start calculating!. Secondly, even after nearly 20 months in office, Modiji has not been able to prove that loss or punish the guilty! Over that he is not even talking about that!. What does that say!?. And remember he had told before and during elections that he will spare even his own MP's if they do wrong but will send them to jail!

Some people do not or never want to accept simplicity. Take our then later prime minister Lal Bahadur Shastri or for that matter our former PM Vajpayee. Did he or does he have any property ? Both have worked for the benefit of the country. Even Modi too is working for the benefit of the country. He has set an example by making Gujarat as a pin point on the map of India. Today Gujarat is a role model state which has to be considered. In such case brainless people shall also blame our rocket scientist president Late Abdul Kalam. What did he had ? He donated everything for the country and made us all proud to stand in one line with the developed countries. Guys, use your brains while you comment on people who deserve respect. Let us all agree to the facts in logical way, rather considering the political ethics. I myself is a person belonging to no party. I have hardly casted any votes, but always agree to the right decision made by the able govt. This is a fact that we all have to agree and support the true leaders.

Indeed Mr. Modi is very poor in the politician's asset evaluation of India a very selfless person, and his simple dress mode shows that he likes very simple lifestyle. He gets emotional when talking about his younger days of struggle, shed tears while talking with the founder of Facebook, Mark Zuckenbergh in California also at the interview with the TIME Magazine in 2014.

For ordinary people who don’t want to miss an opportunity to double their money, will find it hard to believe in the assets what PM has d. After all we are ruled in the past by some who amassed billions by looting us and keeping it safe in swiss bank. But MOdi as such is far different. His diet is light. No drinks, no partying, no family to spend. Only weakness may be dress but that too is khadi.. LOL. He can live his retirement with whatever little money.
It is a news that must elate the hardworking people of the country. But no, something the usual bootlicking natured folks cannot agree to it. They will surely make mockery of his simplicity because they just cannot replicate his simple way of life in their lifetime.
