Margao, Sep 12: Ponda police baffled, when they heard that two crude bombs were blasted in the city on Tuesday September 11. Two persons were injured in this incident.

According to the police, the blast took place on busy road of Tisk-Ponda. The bombs which were already on road came under the running bus wheel and got blasted.

Fish vendor sitting besides the road, Ulhas Naik and Shakuntala Tarishet sustained injuries. They were soon taken to nearby hospital. Both of them are recuperating.

According to the police, these bombs are mainly used in poaching the animals. One suspected accused Prashant Naik who was taking these local bombs on his motorcycle, fell on the road when he dashed to other vehicle. Suspected accused Naik fled from scene immediately.

All together eight bombs were fallen on the road, but Police was successful in diffusing the rest six.

Police said that investigation is on process, and suspected accused will be behind the bars soon.

Similar incident of crude bomb blast had taken place last year in slums area of Ponda. But till now police have not been successful to unearth the network that makes these bombs.

Ponda police inspector Manjunath Desai is investigating the case.
