Tumakuru, Feb 8: Former Karnataka chief minister, H D Kumaraswamy, feels that Siddramaiah government deserves the wrap on its knuckles as delivered by former union minister and veteran Congress leader, Janardhana Poojary. "This government does not need a better certificate than this," he commented.
It may be recalled that Poojary, addressing a meeting of party workers at Mysuru on Friday, had criticized the negative attitude of some ministers, harassment of party workers by them, besides speaking bitterly about non-performing ministers in the state cabinet.
Kumaraswamy asked the people from the state to take the statement of Poojary in all seriousness and think twice before supporting Congress in elections of every form including taluk and zilla panchayat elections besides bypoll.
"Whether I will continue in politics or not is left to the discretion of voters. If JDS fails to get a satisfactory result in the 2018 assembly election, I will not fight any election thereafter," he said, addressing public meetings organized to canvass votes for his party candidates for the taluk and zilla panchayat elections in Koratakere taluk, Tumakuru district.
He noted that some of his party MLAs, who were close to him till recently, are trying to distance themselves from the party, claiming that JDS will not survive for long, and that it does not have enough funds. He felt that times will change and these MLAs will get a deserving treatment.
"JDS does not have money like Congress and BJP. We are facing a situation in which we have to go begging for funds to finance out candidates in the coming elections. But I am confident that voters will not let us down. They will definitely support us in the zilla and taluk panchayat elections and also assembly bypoll," he felt.
