Dubai: Vocal Touch voice workshop for budding singers on Feb 20

Dubai, Feb 11: Here's an opportunity for budding and aspiring singers to hone their skills. Joseph Moras, a highly experienced voice/singing professional, teacher and choral director will hold 'Vocal Touch', a voice workshop for adults/parents on learning the art of healthy singing.

The workshop will be held on February 20 from 3 pm to 5 pm at the mini hall of St Mary’s Church, Dubai.

This enjoyable and highly participatory 2-hour workshop is designed to help in learning how to use voice for singing with ease and confidence.

For those who are new to singing or singers who wish to develop greater confidence in a fun and supportive atmosphere, this is an opportunity to experiment with ‘voice’.

The workshop will provide pointers about techniques used in developing a healthy, effortless and efficient way of singing. By learning to project the voice and sing from the heart, all the participants will be able to find inner voice and will be able to move your audience. In the workshop, techniques will be taught to sing in a safe and effective manner, increase flexibility, strength and range of the voice.

Highlights of the voice workshop:

1. Understanding the anatomy of human voice – learning how the human voice works in speaking and singing.
2. The processes involved in producing sound from the vocal cords.
3. Basic knowledge on the techniques of ‘breathing for singing’
4. Focus on posture and breath-management.
5. Physical exercises to attain good posture.
6. Breathing exercises
7. Voice warm-up exercises
8. Instructions on Articulation, Diction and communication in singing
9. How to take care of your voice
10. Answering the participants’ questions


About the presenter:

Joseph Moras LTCL – Voice coach and choral director, Melodia Voice Studio, Dubai

Joseph Moras is a voice/singing professional with over 25 years of experience as a singer, teacher and choral director. He studied music with professional teachers and got himself qualified with a licentiate diploma (LTCL) from the Trinity College, London. He presently runs a vocal training center, Meloda Voice Studio in Dubai where he conducts singing classes and voice workshops for children, youth and adult singers and choirs belonging to various communities in the city.

    Kudos to Mr. Joseph Moras for opening a Vocal Touch voice workshop for budding singers. I would advice that most of them should take this opportunity especially young children of all ages.
