  • Arrested for allegedly strangling wife and issuing fake death certificate to have her buried

Mumbai, Sep 17: Officials of the Bhiwandi police on Saturday arrested a 42-year-old doctor for allegedly killing his wife and then issuing a fake death certificate to have her buried.

Niyaz Ansari’s 32-year-old wife Feroza died on September 6 and buried the same night. Her death certificate, which was issued by Ansari, stated that Feroza had died of a heart attack. Feroza had two children from her previous marriage to one Mohammad Tariq.

The children, who live in Vikhroli, were informed of their mother’s death in the evening of September 6.

When they reached the graveyard for the burial ceremony, Feroza’s son Zayed said Ansari appeared to be in a hurry to have the body buried. Zayed also told his father, Tariq, that there were blue marks on Feroza’s face. Tariq then instructed Zayed to inform the police. Zayed told officials of the Nizampur police that he suspected his mother had not died due to a heart attack but was killed by Ansari, police said. Feroza’s body was subsequently exhumed for a post-mortem on September 11.

The post-mortem report, which was filed on Saturday, stated that Feroza’s death was caused due to strangulation. The report also mentioned that Feroza had been tortured and severely assaulted before her death. Zayed told the police that the last time his mother had spoken to his sister, she told her that she was not happy with Ansari and that he regularly tortured her.

Ansari has been booked under Sections 302, 201, 197 and 498(A) of the Indian Penal Code.

Feroza was Ansari’s third wife. They were married nearly one and half years ago. Ansari’s fist wife died due to burn injuries in 2001. Her relatives had alleged that he had murdered her. His second wife separated from him shortly after their marriage. “Ansari was making arrangements for his fourth wedding with a former colleague with whom he allegedly had an affair,” said an official of the Nizampur police.

What one should call it. 'Lust?' He should be tortured and hanged same way he did to others. For such people, there should not be any forgiveness.
