Panaji, Sep 18: A 22-year-old international footballer, Raymond Miranda from Goa Velha was killed on the spot in a tragic road accident near Sauri-Zuari on Sunday afternoon, when a tourist bus (MH 04-G-5540) proceeding from Panaji to Margao hit his Karizma Hero Honda motorcycle.

According to the police inspector from Agacaim, Salim Shaikh, the tourist bus belonging to Raj International travelling from Panaji to Margao hit the motorcycle which was coming in the opposite direction near Sauri-Zuari.

The police informed that they have detained the driver of the bus, Dilip Pandurang Galande from Satar and have later arrested him.

The body has been sent to the Goa Medical College and Hospital at Bambolim for post- mortem which will be conducted tomorrow. Raymond played for Sporting Club and had donned Goa (India) colours as an under twenty player in first Luzofonia Games held in Macao last October.
