Kanhaiya didn't raise any slogan: JNU security guard, constable

New Delhi, Feb 26 (PTI): A security guard at JNU campus and a policeman, said to be eyewitnesses who have also recorded their statements in the sedition case, have been purportedly seen in a sting video saying that JNUSU president Kanhaiya Kumar did not raise any slogan.

Earlier, a similar sting operation was conducted on two of the three lawyers who allegedly assaulted journalists, JNU students and teachers at Patiala House court, and were later arrested earlier this week.

In the latest sting by a TV channel, the security guard who identifies himself as Amarjeet Kumar could be seen claiming that he was present at the February 9 event on the JNU campus.

Asked about Kanhaiya, he said the student leader delivered a speech at Ganga dhaba after the end of a march that started from Sabarmati dhaba. He also claimed that he had not seen Kanhaiya raising any slogan.

The guard, in the sting video, could also be seen saying that around 10-15 outsiders were present in the event, which was held despite being denied permission by JNU authorities.

The other person who had identified himself as Delhi Police head constable Rambir could be seen saying that he was present at the event in plain clothes. He was also seen saying that the JNUSU President was present in the crowd but he did not raise any slogans.

In the statement attached with the FIR in the case, registered on the basis of a video footage obtained from the Hindi newschannel, police had mentioned names of Rambir and two other constables who were present at the spot in plain clothes and had witnessed the event.

The head constable, in the sting operation video, could also be seen claiming that the protest against the hanging of Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru was organised in the past two years also but nothing of this sort had happened.

Asked why the police did not stop the event, he claimed that there was no police present inside the campus as it needs the permission of the Vice Chancellor. However, he had informed his seniors about the incident.

"Kanhaiya was there in the crowd but I did not see him raise any slogan. Khalid was clearly raising slogans and that is also evident from what is being shown on TV," the policeman is seen saying in the sting video.

He also said he had not shot any video of the event fearing an attack. Both Amarjeet Kumar and Rambir are learnt to have recorded their statements with the investigators.

Slapping sedition charges on Kanhaiya is cruelty at its worst form. Parliament should take cognizance of this important sting operation. Debating about Kanhaiya without giving Kanhaiya a hearing is violation of Kanhaiya's fundamental right. The law makers and judicial officials should take this important evidence into account. Citizens are looking up to the judiciary for Justice to Kanhaiya.

For BJPians and RSS the Cinema actors and Condom-Pickers have become more important than the ordinary students.

Team BJP.look at you What have you done to Mother India. There were so many peaceful days during UPA rule.God knows why are you hell bent in favouring hindutvavadi when decent hindus themselves don't like it.Everywhere you are branding Saffron.Whoever goes against you is anti national. There were so many who went against UPA govt after mumbai attack n 2g scam etc.But congress is TOLERANT.You are so intolerant. And smriti Irani yours is heights. Please come out of your Character Tulsi. You are minister.Or did you think parliament is showcasing KYunki Mantri bhi Kabhi Abhinetri thi!!!
BJP must stop playing majority cards or else its India will suffer globally.Already California university has put on hold for recruiting hindus and the reason is that their proffessor says they are turning to be extremists.I heard even the gulf countries will also limit visas for hindus.Saffron agents should think that they are turning to be an extreme dangerous outfit.

Anti-India slogans are heard from Jammu-Kashmir region, day in day out. Nobody could silence these protesters in the history of independent India. Then, why such a big fuss when it was heard from the grounds of JNU ? Foremost, why wrongly arrest a student (leave alone the fact that he is the student leader) alleging that he shouted the slogans ? Do find out who shouted them and punish such people, why arrest an innocent ?

Leave all of it, the minister dug up JNU website to find some anti-deity masala and dragged it into the Parliament ? Its individuals' choice whether one worships Ravan or Ram, so is whether Goddess Parvathi or her opponent Mahishasura ! Good that all those argued about this in the parliament are Hindus ! Else, a communal clash would have started right from the Parliament !

In the back of all this drama in the Parliament, let not JNU issue be ignored, Kanaiya Kumar deserves justice. The government that branded the entire university to be breeding anti-nationals, must explain to the nation its miscalculation !

Meaning, aliens did post the text - explain me otherwise !

    Lydia
You are so readily giving certificate to JNU students as if you are present there. Anti national slogans in Kashimr is a problem agreed, but it is bigger problem if azadi slogans heard in the heart of delhi. They demanded azadi not just to Kashmir, azadi to Punjab, Manipur and even kerala.. If Azadi to kerala, then I guess your Kadri will have a army camp protecting the border... that should give you a hint of what impact such anti nationals can lead to. Yes, Kanaiya may have been mute during in these protests, but let the law take its course and can we control the eagerness.

coming to Ram, durga matter, yes, it is individual choice who they have to worship.. but that does not mean they demean or abuse others feeling right? Pl don't try to say it never occurred. it is welknown how they depicted our gods for long time. does not it hurt you if your faith is abused? why double standard?

Yes, jnu issue needs logical conclusion.. identify those who eat up our tax money for shouting anti national slogans and azadi must eb dealt so severly and we must stop poring money to those anti nationals right away
