Mangaluru, Mar 3: The Ullal police here, who acted swiftly after receiving information that two students hailing from different religions had together visited an ice cream parlour at Thokkottu junction, reached the spot before trouble began to brew, and took the couple away. The incident happened on Wednesday March 2.
A boy belonging to Muslim community and a Christian girl, both students of a city-based college, had come to the said ice cream parlour together in a motor bike. Activists of Hindu organizations had begun to gather in front of the parlour after getting this information.
Ullal police got information about the possibility of atmosphere getting vitiated. They immediately rushed to the spot, led the couple away, and sent them off after cautioning them, it is gathered.
