New Chinese satellite successfully transmits signals to Earth

Beijing, Mar 4 (IANS): Signals to Earth from China's new BeiDou Navigation Satellite have been successfully received and decoded, the media reported on Friday.

Now, the satellite is entering a load test stage, the People's Daily reported.

The satellite was launched in early February.

It's the fifth of the Beidou System's current and second generation satellites, and also the 21st in the Beidou System as a whole.

The current generation aims to help the system's coverage go global from regional by 2020.
