NEW DELHI, Sep 23: Two Japanese women have alleged that three men had held them captive in Agra early this week and repeatedly gang-raped them, Delhi Police said on Sunday.
The duo lodged a complaint at the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) police station here Saturday night after managing to flee from their captors in Agra.
senior Delhi Police officer told IANS that the women, in their 20s, had arrived here from Tokyo Sep 15 and had gone to Agra to see Taj Mahal after a few days.
He said the women were befriended in Agra by three men who have been identified as Sunny, Rajan Singh and Alif.
The trio invited them to a secluded place, where they were held hostage for three days till Saturday and were gang-raped.
The women said that after reaching New Delhi they contacted the Japanese embassy, whose officials in turn informed the Delhi Police and got a first information report (FIR) registered at the IGIA police station.
The FIR was registered after their medical examination late Saturday night.
Police officials said the women had taken an early morning flight to Tokyo.
The case has been transferred to the Agra police for further investigation.
