Mangaluru: Kidnap of student - CCB nab main accused from Shivamogga

Mangaluru, Mar 6: Mangaluru CCB police led by inspector Valentine D'Souza on Saturday March 5 arrested the main accused in a case relating to the kidnapping of a student and robbing him of cash and a mobile phone.

Jayaprakash (24) alias J P from Boloor is the person arrested.

A diploma student named Akshay from Neermarga Kelarai was abducted on February 14 by a gang of four in an auto rickshaw. The gang, who took the student to Sultan Battery area, stripped him and assaulted him. Then they took Rs 500 and a mobile phone worth Rs 8,000 from the student and ran away from the place.

The parents of the student filed a complaint in the Mangaluru rural police station on February 15. The police on February 22 had arrested two persons Joel and Vikki Bappal in connection to the case. But the main accused Jayaprakash was absconding till now. The fourth accused Loy is yet to be arrested.

Jayaprakash, who fled from Mangaluru after the crime, lived in Shirahalli near Shikaripura of Shivamogga district. The CCB police who obtained information on the same went there to arrest Jayaprakash.

PSI Shyam Sunder and other police personnel participated in the operation.

    Angryman, if mother is supporting too much police should question her also, what about father he could have guided his son!? What way mother can support him? Does he carries out poligiri at home, it is not said at home, outside and was caught in Shimoga.Mother might be suffering mentally for his cruel deeds.

    If he promoted then he can't catch criminals, moral police, rowdies, anti nationals etc. Since he is inspector he can directly involve in the raid. After promotion he can give only order but not sure inspector working under him do it or not
