Mangalore, Sep 25: A press conference was organized here on Monday September 24 addressed by the State Minority chairman Anwar Manippady.
As part of his speech Manippady criticizing the Congress declared that Congress party is the culprit which has created a rift between the minority and majority in its 40 years of rule in the urban local body in the city.
Praising the JD(S)-BJP coalition government, Manippady stated that it was the JD(S)-BJP combine in the state which provided the maximum benefits to the minority and criticized the Congress for not doing enough for the welfare of the minority.
According to him people in the state were disillusioned with the Congress government and it was the coalition government which had made people happy within its 19 months of rule, he declared.
Manippady confidently stated that the social situation in the state has changed drastically and it was now favourable to the minorities. Charging the Congress party with using the minority as a vote bank throughout the nation, he stated that the voters were intelligent enough to understand and judge its intentions.
Further according to him it was the BJP which had given due prominence to minorities, by giving it 6 seats in the Mangalore City Corporation (MCC) and hence confidently stated that the BJP would get a majority in the MCC elections.
