Mangaluru, Mar 11: 'Lex Ultima '16', the national-level law fest organized by Shree Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Law College (SDMLC) got off to a stunning start at the College premises here late evening on Thursday March 10.
The evening had a touch of glamour with Tulu film actresses Sonal Monteiro and Raksha Shenoy gracing the occasion.
Both the actresses wished the participating students good luck and success to the event.
Another highlight of the event was the promotion of Daijiworld 24x7 channel's 'Junior Masti' dance reality show for children. Little talents Ayush, Lafia, Prithvi and Shifali performed a dance that won cheers and applause from the audience.
The event started with a Bharatanatyam performance by Nishmitha Karandur. Several other performances dazzled the evening.
Sharmila and Sumith compered the programme.
As many as 120 students from top 19 law colleges across the country are participating in the four-day 'Lex Ultima' fest. A combination of ten events have been lined up, which will test the legal prowess of the law students in a wide array of subjects from trial advocacy to legal fiction writing.
The fest was formally inaugurated earlier in the day by Prof (Dr) C S Patil, vice-chancellor of KSLU, Hubballi, in the presence of Uma M G, principal district and sessions judge, Dakshina Kannada district presiding over the function, as well as S P Chengappa, president of Mangaluru Bar Association as the chief guest. The valedictory programme will be held on March 13.
