Kasargod, Mar 11: Police constable Sunil Kumar (42), attached to Manjeshwar police station, who was assaulted by a group of five people with lethal weapons on November 16, 2015, passed away on Friday March 11 in Thiruvananthapuram.
He was on medical leave since the attack. He was rushed to hospital after he collapsed on the evening of March 11, but could not be saved.

On November 16, 2015, Sunil was on night patrol duty accompanied by Deepak from Kasargod armed reserve police at Manjeshwar, when a group of five people assaulted them with weapons.
Police who arrived after the assault, took the injured to the hospital.
Sunil Kumar had sustained serious injuries on the head and was under treatment for a few months before going on medical leave to his hometown in Thiruvananthapuram.
Thuminadu residents Siddiq, Sabir, Anwar and Mubarak were arrested in this connection.
On receiving information about Sunil Kumar's death, Manjeshwar police went to Thiruvananthapuram to pay their last respects.
