Mangaluru, Mar 12: In a tragic accident, a man died after his scooter collided with a car near Amblamogaru Adu in Konaje police station limits here on Saturday, March 12.
The deceased has been identified as Balakrishna Poojary (35), son of Kutharu Kabekodi residents late Poovappa Poojary and Yamuna.
He was working at Hotel Sri Ganesh at Kuthar junction, owned by his sister. The accident occurred when he was going by scooter to deliver meals to building workers near Amblamagaru Adu.
It is learnt at a speeding recklessly driven Alto car approaching from the opposite direction collided with his scooter near the curve at Adu. Though seriously injured Balakrishana was rushed to Deralakatte hospital, he breathed his last on the way.
Balakrishna was employed abroad earlier and was working in the hotel owned by his sister at Kuthar for the last two years. He got married four-and-a-half years ago and has twin two-year-old daughters.
He is survived by his mother, wife, two children, four sisters and a brother.
A case has been registered at Konaje police station.
The wedding of Balakrishna's younger sister is scheduled to be held on April 29. Preparations for the wedding were on in the family. Balakrishna was the breadwinner of the family.
