Mangalore, Sep 27: The reigning coalition government is facing constitutional crisis now. The JD (S) supremo H D Deve Gowda has decided not to handover the charge to BJP. Hence, the governor should interfere at this crucial moment and impose presidential rule, said Janardhan Poojari, former Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president and Rajya Sabha member.
Speaking at a press conference here on Thursday September 27 evening, he opined that Deve Gowda has dropped the bombshell by saying that he would not handover the authority to BJP. He was found to be so happy for the first time during a press meet. Moreover, of late he has been engaged in finding faults with BJP.
With reference to the murder attempt case filed against the chief minister by Sriramulu, a BJP minister from Bellary, Poojari said that no chief minister has faced such a serious acquisition so far in the state. Hence Deve Gowda has decided to discontinue coalition with BJP. Owing to this move of Deve Gowda the constitutional crisis has arisen in the state. This clearly calls for the need of governor to interfere in the state affairs, he argued.
The Congress party would not support JD (S) or BJP at this juncture. Karnataka has never experienced such kind of political turmoil so far. The BJP has been active in creating communal disharmony all over India for decades. Although Deve Gowda has shared power with BJP, now he smells rot in everything, Poojari criticized.
Former prime minister H D Deve Gowda is behaving irresponsibly at a crucial moment. Hence the voters are expected to give fitting reply while casting their votes during the local body elections, which will be held on Friday September 28, he requested.
Congress leaders Kallige Taranath Shetty, Harikrishna Bantwal and M G Hegde were present at the press conference.
