Mangaluru, Mar 17: A youth died when a mini lorry hit a scooter near Hosangadi Manjeshwar check-post on Wednesday night, March 16.

Shahban (21), son of Sheikh from Irshad Nagar Udyavar, is the person deceased.

As per details, a mini lorry which was parked near the Hosangadi check post for repair work, moved at once and hit the scooter which Shahban was riding. As a result of the accident, Shahban died on the spot.

Some local residents protested complaining about frequent occurrences of accidents in the area. They blocked the road saying the administration has failed containing the accidents despite knowing they have occurred many times.

    OMG. 21 years. Such a young age and such a death. I feel, why don't these authorities or officers die in such mishaps. Then only they may realize. We the common people , block the traffic, protest, authorities knows how to convince and we withdraw. One more accident and whole cycle repeats... what a tragedy and a pathetic life we are leading. Now who is responsible for the loss to his parents and family. I feel like thrashing these authorizes or officers who are responsible to these disasters. Really.
