Mangaluru, Mar 19: The annual day of Speranza School for special children was held at the Uthsav hall near Kodialbail in the city today.

The editor in chief of Daijiworld weekly Stephen Mascarehnas inaugurated the program.

In his inaugural address he said, "When a child is born, the parents will have an enourmous amount of expectations of the child. But when the parents feels the child lacks something they feel devastated. They must keep in mind that God has gifted those children in a special way and hence the children are called special children."

"Sometimes we feel that these children may remain the same all through life. We have got to keep in mind that it is just a matter of time that they too can become like us. All we have to do is to place our trust in God and He will not let us down."

One of the parents Dr Shruthi speaking on the occasion said, "The teachers in Speranza give their best to keep children the happy and cheerful. Seeing the various activities they perform we feel like being one among them. I thank them on behalf of all the parents out here."

The chief guest Stephen Mascarehnas also distributed prizes to the winners of the various competitions.
The children presented nursery rhymes and other activities as part of the cultural program.

Head mistress of the school Ramandeep Kaur, coordinator Anjana Kamath, director of the school Manish Anand were present on the occasion.
