Sullia: Youth drowns in Payasvini river

Sullia, Mar 21: A youth, who had entered River Payasvini for taking bath on Sunday March 20 drowned. He has been identified as Chandrashekhar (28), son of Mahalinga Patali from Shantinagara here.

Accompanied by two of his friends, Chandrashekhar had ventured into the river near Paicharu here. He unexpectedly drowned in the river, and the fact that he did not know how to swim proved to be a major drawback. His friends rushed out and shouted for help.

Some youngsters from Paicharu rushed to Chandrashekhar's rescue and brought him out of the river. But by then he had lost his life, it is gathered.

Chandrashekhar, a carpenter by profession, was unmarried. He is survived by parents, two brothers, and a sister.
