BJP, JD(S) legislators stage dharna before Vidhana Soudha for PU Lecturers

Bengaluru, Mar 21: The combined BJP and JD(S) legislators staged a protest in front of the Kengal Hanumanthaiah statue in front of Vidhana Soudha on Monday demanding implementation of the Kumar Naik Committee report on increasing salary of Pre University lecturers.

The legislators, who staged the dharna before the commencement of the State legislature session, also demanded filling up vacancies in PU colleges, regularisation of services of guest lecturers, increase in the pay-scale of PU teachers,and proper distribution of shoes to schoolchildren.

The Karnataka State Pre-University College Lecturer’s Association has decided to boycott the PUC II year evaluation in April.

Dharna before Jayachandra’s chamber

Meanwhile, freedom fighter H S Doreswamy, former MLA A T Ramaswamy, and former Minister B T Lalitha Naik separately staged a protest in front of Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister T B Jayachandra’s chamber in the State Secretariat seeking action against officials,who had amended RTC and mutation cases and colluded with private individuals in granting them government lands in Bengaluru Rural district.

They alleged that officials created fake documents for government lands and allotted land to private properties illegally.  

They demanded action against officials who had generated fake land documents and failed to safeguard the pubic properties in Bengaluru rural district.
