Kundapur, Mar 21: "I am committed to the Yettinahole Integrated Water Project. The state government did a mistake by not informing the people about it on time, which has created all the confusion. The project will solve the drinking water problems of four districts in the state," said union minister of law D V Sadananda Gowda.
He was speaking to reporters at the Kundapur BJP office, after offering prayers at Kollur Mookambika Temple here on Monday March 21.
"The ground water level will increase due to Yettinahole project. Three thousand TMC of water which flows into the sea from the Netravati river during monsoons can be utilized with this project. We will be able to get 24 TMC of water from rivulets that flow from a height of 1,831 ft," he said.
Listing out the achievements of the BJP-led union government, he said, "Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP became the first party in 30 years to come to power on its own. The government has ruled as promised. It has restored the lost prestige and honour of the country and now other countries in the world are looking at India with admiration," he said.
"Jobs are being created for youths through various development projects. Programmes such as Mudra Bank Yojana have led to economic development. Loan of up to Rs 10 lac without collaterals, several insurance schemes for farmers and labourers have been some of the achievements of the present government. On the recent cheating case in Kollur temple where large amounts of gold ornaments were siphoned off and several were arrested, Sadananda said, "I will not interfere in the Kollur temple case. As the matter comes under the state government, I will not intervene. I have already suggested to tighten the security in the temple. The officials have assured to do so."
