As per the report, a gang of three robbers went to the jewelry shop belonging to Nityananda Shenoy on Thursday afternoon. The robbers went out as they found only the two workers and not Nityananda Shenoy. The gang, which waited outside, entered the shop once Shenoy came there. And the gang sprinkled chilly powder into the eyes of Shenoy to steal the jewelry from the shop. But when he shouted for help, the local people managed to catch two of the robbers. They then handed over them to the police. The third robber ran away from the place.

After interrogations, the police arrested the duo on Friday. They also seized the revolver and electric shocker from them.

It is learnt that there are eight members in the gang and they stayed in a hotel in Kottacherry. Search is on for the person who ran away from the jewelry shop.
