Mann Ki Baat: PM Modi wants to push football, tackle water shortage

New Delhi, Mar 27 (PTI) : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday spoke about India hosting the FIFA Under-17 World Cup football tournament next year and said it is was an opportunity to promote the country’s standing in the sport, for which immense awareness needs to be created within the nation.

In his monthly radio programme ‘Mann ki Baat’, he also asked the farming community to use less fertilisers and more modern technology, like the Farmers’ App, for their benefit.

During the 30-minute programme, Modi talked about how the government is developing all the five places associated with Dalit icon B R Ambedkar on the occasion of his 125th birth anniversary which falls on April 14.

The Prime Minister spoke about various other issues during the Easter show, including asking students to develop some skills during their vacations and urging people to work for defeating diabetes and eradicating TB from the country.

Referring to the agriculture sector, he said that the water table is falling in parts of the country, and that small reservoirs should be created to help combat drought.

He said the government, on its part, is constructing five lakh ‘khet talab’ (farming pools) across the country.
Under MNREGA also, efforts are being made to conserve water, he said, as he pitched for a people’s movement for saving water.

We already had make in India, Digital India and now we have football to show our talent to the world. We are heading in the right direction at least as far as our PM is concerned. Economy is in the shambles and creating job is still a castle in the wind. Headley coming out with the news that is not surprising if anyone follows politics of Maharashtra from the last days of Pawar as CM. Just wait for some more years. More truth is going to come out. When SS came to power in Maharashtra, they systematically killed all Dawood enemies by staging encounters. No one realised those when SS came to power with the help of Khairnar and anti Dawood wave but they have done nothing to reduce his hold in Mumbai mafia but cleared his path by finishing all his enemies. In few years time we will surely hear from Dawood that Feku actually went to meet him in that famous Biriyani diplomacy. All Devs from this forum will run to dev lokh once it is also revealed. All politicians are hand in glove with criminals and desh-drohis but these bhakths think that BJP, SS, VHP and RSS are the only desh Bhakths even when this party allowed Kargil to happen in first place and then made money out of the coffins of our brave soldiers. They don't really have shame. People thought Congress is worst and voted for a change to find out they jumped to fire from the frying pan.
