Mumbai, Oct 4: Christian community is of mild nature, selfless and honest social service workers. This community has significantly contributed for the welfare of the society since they have made service as their motto in life. However, a few communalists who cannot stand the good work of the community have made them scapegoat through their unjustified acts," said Mumbai Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president and MP Gurudas Kamath.
He was speaking during the friendly meet held after the 5th annual general body meeting of Christian Chamber of Commerce and Industries held at Hotel Kohinoor Continental located in J B Nagar, Andheri East recently. Sangeet Abhinay Academy director, Fr Dr Charles Vaz SVD was the guest of honour.
“Music keeps the body healthy. Indian classical music has been renowned in the world. Music has the global appeal. Hence, Indians should accept our music which has the essence of our ancient culture by not glorifying the western music” said Fr Charles.
CCCI awards ’06 were presented to Daniel A Fernandes (entrepreneur), Michael Pinto (public service) and Fr Joe Pereira (social service).
